Formula Esencial is a group of musicians friends gathered in a bedroom in an apartment in the Bronx, where, putting together their own ideas, we create original musical themes without sophisticated equipment, only a usb microphone, a garageband program and the talent of each one of the friends who visit the home of the singer who writes the lyrics, records us and with the help of educated musician friends, we have obtained from this experiment what we call today - Homemade Music / Essential Formula / Homemade Salsa///Asi comenzo: ..El grupo musical "La Fórmula Esencial" comenzó como un concepto de ficción en noviembre de 2015 en el Bronx, Nueva York, mientras que un par de músicos estaban compartiendo en el dormitorio de Nestito Fuentes (nuestro cantante) . Nos preguntábamos si podríamos crear buena música latina con un presupuesto limitado y instrumentación. Después de algunos debates y mucho desacuerdos, acordamos en la instrumentación actual, que consiste de piano, bajo, congas, timbal, trompeta y trombón. No es un formato típico se podría decir ya que la mayoría de estos grupos hoy en dia son más grandes y por lo general consisten en más percusión y vientos. Nuestro pianista, David Santiago, se reunió con el cantante en frente de su edificio una tarde después de un encuentro casual una tarde. Nigunos eran conscientes que ambos eran músicos hasta que el tema se acercó y estuvieron de acuerdo para llegar mas tarde juntos y tal vez grabar un par de temas. Esto llego hasta la noche cuando nuestro trombonista, Orlando Oquendo, se acercó y, junto con sus ideas, grabamos las pistas caseras que estás escuchando. Le damos gracias por un interés público en nuestra música ya que esta es sólo una humilde ofrenda. Nuestro principal deseo es tocar música agradable que viene de nuestros corazónes y mientras continuamos experimentando, la esperanza de ofrecer canciones y arreglos de mayor calidad. Gracias por todo su apoyo.....This is how we started- The musical group "Formula Esencial" first started as a fictional concept in November 2015 in the Bronx, NY while a couple of musicians were hanging out in Nestito Fuentes' (our singer) bedroom. We were wondering if we could possibly create nice latin music with a limited budget and instrumentation. After a few discussions and much disagreements, we settled on the current instrumentation which consists of piano, bass, congas, timbal, trumpet and trombone. Not a typical format you might say since most bands these days are larger and usually consist of more percussion and horns. Our piano player, David Santiago, met the singer in front of their building one afternoon after a chance encounter one afternoon. Neither were aware they were both musicians until the topic came up and agreed to later get together and maybe record a couple of tracks. This led up to the night when our trombonist, Orlando Oquendo, came over and along with his ideas, recorded the homemade tracks you are listening to. We thank you for any public interest in our music since this is only a humble offering. Our main desire is to play enjoyable music that comes from our hearts and as we continue to experiment, hope to offer higher quality songs and arrangements. Thank you for all your support...
